Remember, 2008
Remember (working title), is a series of images taken of rock formations found on the island of Aruba. These constructed formations, created by visitors to the north east coast of the island, consist of layering volcanic and sedimentary rock usually two to four striations deep. I find myself making comparisons of these tokens to the act of lighting a candle in a church one will ever return to; the creators of the rock figures are participating in a foreign culture through a desire to connect with a sense of spirituality or universal inclusion.
