Human intervention within, a natural landscape have been a central concept in my work. This contemporary remembrance has been inspired by my lifelong connection to the Toronto Island. This work references the ways in which and social artifacts are collected and documented. Gather - firewood is a contemporary take on the Victorian Cabinet of Curiosities. This work is an archive of firewood found on the beaches of Toronto Island. These remains are witness to celebrations, social gatherings and conversations lost to the night. What remain in the landscape are impressions in the sand a circle of rock or logs and ashes.
