Spring Trees, 2009

This work has been inspired by my life long connection to the Toronto Islands. Living in, and watching a familiar terrain in a public park over the course of the seasons and generations has made me acutely aware of changes and the human connection to landscape. These flowering trees mark a history where houses long torn down once stood. Long after the land owner stopped nurturing the trees, each spring blooms a life renewal.
