Gather 2007-2010
Human interventions and relationships within the constructed and natural landscape has been a key concept throughout my career. This contemporary remembrance has been inspired by my lifelong connection to the Toronto Island. Living on a familiar terrain over the course of many seasons and several generations has made me acutely aware of change and our connections to a familiar landscape. When walking in this environment I am witness to the transient nature of the use of the land by visitors who come for the day to enjoy the park or mark an occasion. Discarded or forgotten items often remain after these visitors have left; Gather is a collection of objects left behind.
